(Original Story):<\/strong> Famed auction house Sotheby\u2019s is set to sell the Nike Hyperdunk “Barack Obama PE”<\/strong>. Considered only two pairs in existence, this Hyperdunk<\/a> was made exclusively for former President Barack Obama back in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pair that is set to go on auction later this week have not been worn by the 44th<\/sup> President but are Nike\u2019s only confirmation sample; they have been kept in pristine condition for the past 12 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nike Hyperdunk “Barack Obama PE”<\/strong> sports a familiar \u201cUnited We Rise\u201d colorway (created for Team USA for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics) and features a white leather upper paired with blue Swoosh insignias and visible Flywire tech. However, it\u2019s the nods to Obama that make this pair extremely special. \u201c44\u201d has been embroidered into the toe while the insoles feature bald eagles with the date \u201c1776,\u201d the year of America’s founding. The date of production coding on the interior label reads \u201820091022\u2019 for October 22, 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nike Hyperdunk “Barack Obama PE”<\/strong> in size 12.5 will drop on February 12 at 4:44 pm via Sotheby\u2019s \u201cBuy Now\u201d program<\/a>. The pair retails for $25,000.<\/p>\n\n\n
