Continuing to honor Black athletes across basketball, PUMA<\/a> has tapped the non-profit organization The Black Fives Foundation<\/a> to highlight pre-NBA African-American history for Black History Month<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

African-Americans have oftentimes been overlooked, especially during the period that pre-date the NBA. To celebrate these Black figures, PUMA\u2019s multi-year partnership with The Black Fives Foundation aims to empower the NBA in reaching a wider audience, in addition to helping the organization develop its related initiatives. The partnership will additionally raise awareness about this vital history and its pioneering players, teams, and contributors through initiatives that make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The capsule comprises popular PUMA silhouettes along with apparel items such as \u201cMake History Now\u201d branded pullover hoodies and sweatpants. Additionally, a multi-use online museum to display archives of the NBA\u2019s historical artifacts and content from the Black Fives Era will launch later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud and honored to partner with PUMA toward making a meaningful, long-lasting difference,\u201d said Claude Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of the Black Fives Foundation in an official press release. The common mission is to highlight those \u201cwho helped pave the way for today\u2019s game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
