James Jebbia\u2019s cultish streetwear label Supreme<\/a> has been acquired by VF for a massive $2.1 billion USD, according to WWD<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the report, VF will be purchasing Supreme from private equity firm Carlyle Group and investors that include Goode Partners. It\u2019s been previously reported that Carlyle paid $500 million USD in 2017 for a roughly 50% stake in the fashion brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With this new acquirement, Supreme now joins a portfolio that also includes Vans<\/a>, the North Face, and Timberland<\/a>. According to VF executives, Supreme\u2019s cur\u00adrent busi\u00adness model will remain unchanged and doesn\u2019t see much cost sav\u00adings in the near term through the com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The cash transaction, expected to be completed by year\u2019s end, marks VF\u2019s largest acquisition since the Denver company purchased Timberland in 2011 for $2.3 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Supreme to the VF family and to build on our decades-long relationship as we create value for all of our stakeholders.
