Sustainability is very much the present and future of footwear. Brand, athletes, and consumers are aboard creating better shoes for a better tomorrow. Reebok, however, is taking sustainability to a new level and even paying it forward.<\/p>\n
Reebok is partnering with Siena Farms, a Boston-area based farm, with the launch of the Reebok Forever Floatride GROW<\/strong>. The shoe, which is the brand’s first-ever plant-based performance running shoe, is a treat in more ways than one. Custom\u00a0 <\/span>CSA <\/span>(community supported agriculture) produce boxes will be available to the first 50 customers across the U.S. on Oct. 1 exclusively through <\/span>Reebok UNLOCKED at no additional cost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n For every purchase (up to 50), Reebok will donate a CSA box to people facing food insecurity through Siena Farms\u2019 <\/span>community-sponsored farm shares <\/span>program that increases equitable access to vegetables.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to the delivery of the shoe and the vegetation alongside it, the Forever Floatride GROW rivals top running shoes thanks to a\u00a0highly cushioned, responsive midsole made of sustainably grown castor beans, a breathable eucalyptus tree upper, a sock liner made of odor-resistant BLOOM algae foam and a durable outsole made from real rubber trees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cForever Floatride GROW is made for runners who care about performance and want to feel good about the products they use daily,\u201d said Emily Mullins, Product Director at Reebok. \u201cThis shoe is the\u00a0 result of a long journey to create a plant-based running shoe that looks and performs like other best-in-class footwear and can withstand running a marathon.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
