New Balance has been tapping a slew of lauded fashion labels and creatives for its recent collaborations, such as Snow Peak and JJJJound. Now the sneaker giant has turned its sights to Filipino-American artist Louis De Guzman for a New Balance 574 collaboration.

The upcoming Louis De Guzman x New Balance 574 features a mix-textile upper comprised of suede and leather color-blocked in De Guzman’s signature color palette of purple, red, light blue, and black. Additionally, the collaborative kicks spotlight De Guzman’s artwork and serves as an extension of his on-going body of work, “In Between The Lines”.

“I am beyond honored to be joining New Balance in reimagining their iconic 574 for Footlocker Inc’s global Collaboraid initiative. This mixed media footwear piece draws inspiration from my personal color palette from my ongoing body of work entitled “In Between The Lines”. A representation of raising self-awareness and confidence in oneself. Being able to apply the body of work and subject matter towards the color blocking and tooling of the 574 has been a humbling process. Proving the fact that the journey is truly the best part of accomplishing our own goals and aspirations. Which I hope this footwear piece reminds those to keep going and to keep evolving. I am proud to present the Louis De Guzman 574,” shared the artist in an official press release.

The upcoming limited-edition sneaker will release at Foot Locker with portions of proceeds going towards COVID-19 relief efforts. Only 100 pairs will release on October 21 for $200.
