The deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor sparked conversations, protests, and actions that call for justice that’s long overdue in the United States. The tragic losses of Floyd and Taylor are the latest instances of systemic violence that has resulted in murders as a result of police brutality. These incidents are not isolated as police have a track record of killing Black lives.<\/p>\n
The sneaker community has lent a hand in a variety of ways. Brands are donating<\/a> and becoming agents of change. Retailers are teaming up for raffles<\/a>. The reality is that sneaker culture would be nonexistent if it weren’t for Black people. It’s only right that brands and other key players in the sneaker game provide some type of support back to the communities that fuel the sneaker empire it is today.<\/p>\n Virgil Abloh is the latest sneaker figure to rise to the occasion as he has teamed up with two Black Lives Matter-based organizations in the United Kingdom, The Black Curriculum and Inquest.
