Virgil Abloh and Nike hit collaboration gold when the duo introduced the OFF-WHITE x Nike “The Ten” collection back in 2017. Since the collaborative range has added more silhouettes and continues to sell out within minutes.

However, before the OFF-WHITE x Nike “The Ten” collection flew off shelves, the sportswear giant originally tapped Japan’s multi-hyphenate Hiroshi Fujiwara, known for his prominent streetwear label fragment design. Today, Fujiwara has revealed a fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 “The Ten” sample, which was nixed in favor for Abloh’s deconstructed vision.

Going by the sample, the fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 “The Ten” is crafted from black and beige suede and features the label’s signature design elements such as technical product descriptions above the Air unit. Further fragment design and “The Ten” branding dresses the insole, heel pulls, and tongue tabs. Other notable features include the wide base lacing system, which looks quite similar to the OFF-WHITE x Nike Dunk Low that released in 2019.

Check out the fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 “The Ten” sample below.

And in case you’ve missed it, last month Virgil Abloh shared the first OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Jordan 1 sample.
