We have learned that New York based company Milkcrate Athletics has sued Nike for copyright infringement. In detail, Milkcrate Athletics has accused Nike of mimicking its trademark ‘milk crate’ logo within LeBron’s signature sneaker line; specifically on James’s fifth shoe, the Nike Zoom LeBron V and the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier II.<\/p>\n
Milkcrate Athletics stated that its logo and name is ‘confusingly similar’ to that seen on James’s signature sneakers. The Nike Zoom LeBron Sodier II possesses a milk crate pattern and the words, ‘milk crate’ on the top of the shoe, while the Nike Zoom LeBron V also features the words, ‘milk crate’ on the base.<\/p>\n
Milkcrate Athletics seeks an unspecified amount of money and a recall of all LeBron James sneakers that possess the aforementioned milk crate attributes.<\/p>\n
At press time, a spokesperson for Nike stated that the company will defend itself ‘vigorously’.<\/p>\n
