Jerry Lorenzo, in his ongoing and expansive collaboration with Nike, appears to have access to the Swoosh vault and its materials unlike many collaborative partners before him.

Both creating new silhouettes like his Air FOG 1 and re-aligning existing ones as seen through the Air Skylon II, Lorenzo is more regarded for the former and the creative expression that surrounds new innovation.

Revealed for the first time this week is the Nike Air Fear of God 180 — a mid-cut silhouette with soccer-style stitching at the toe, angular lines, and cross strapping that appears to honor Nike design language from its cross-training onslaught of the ’90s.

Most notably seen on the Air Raid, the FOG 180 returns to that ever influential decade with overlaying straps that hide a modern lacing system yet give way to Swoosh branding at the midfoot panel.

Retaining the consistency noted in each Fear of God x Nike sneaker is double stacked Zoom Air at the midsole. Operating as the series’ uniformed characteristic, the ilk for which each of these shoes is created can be defined by this one continuous trait.

Release details for the Nike Fear of God 180 are unknown at this time. Stay tuned for more.

Update 2/12: Jerry Lorenzo’s expansive Nike collection continues this spring with the release of his Nike Air Fear of God Strap that finds inspiration in the famed Air Raid. Look for this Light Bone pair alongside a Black counterpart on a reported April 27 courtesy of py_leaks. Retail pricing is slated at $190.

Update 2/25: During a Nike Los Angeles event put on by Union’s Chris Gibbs, Jerry Lorenzo debuted a friends and family Nike Air Fear of God Strap in the OG Air Raid colorway. Largely seen as a Raiders theme, the ’90s silhouette stands as the inspiration for Lorenzo’s latest creation. This colorway isn’t expected to release per Lorenzo’s caption, yet the silhouette itself is expected to land in other colorways this April.

Update 3/28: Jerry Lorenzo today provides a closer look at his upcoming Nike Air Fear of God Strap in the OG Air Raid colorway. Although release details for the shoe remain unknown, it’s quickly becoming one of the most anticipated sneakers rumored to drop this spring/summer season.

Update 4/8: Ahead of the Nike Air Fear of God Raid on April 27, Jerry Lorenzo spoke with Nike about the first time he laid eyes on the shoe’s inspirational guide — the Nike Air Raid — when a high school classmate wore them for the first time.

“When the kid walked in the classroom with the Air Raid, no one told me that I was supposed to like the Air Raid. I was just drawn to it, the design, the colors. It was like, oh my God, what is that?” Lorenzo recalls. “It became interconnected with all these other real emotional things that were happening at the time of the shoe.”

Lorenzo’s second drop from his spring/summer 2019 collection with Nike, which highlights this reimagined Air Raid, again lands on April 27.

Update 4/22: Jerry Lorenzo easily has one of the most anticipated sneakers of the year in his Nike Air Fear of God Raid. Releasing on April 27, END — an official retailer of the collection — has offered a closer look at the Sail colorway.
