While there have been a number of shoes in recent years that combine a number of shoes together in a mosaic like production, the Jordan Jeter Throwback brings in elements and inspirations from nine models in a fluid and seamless form. ?The end result, a product that not only looks great and completely original, but something that performs for one of the best short stops to ever take the field.

The morning of the media day, Jordan Brand was not going to let us off easy just telling us how great the Jeter Throwback was, they had us experience it first hand. ?Derek’s off-season trainer, Jason Riley put us through a “light” workout that Jeter does that included field workouts, ground ball work, and a few swings of the bat. ?Very quickly we learned the importance of Jeter’s ability to stay agile in his position and young physically. ?At the age of 35 while many baseball players are thinking of hanging up their cleats, Jeter is looking for how he can train and stay in shape to go another 8-10 seasons.

The first thing that I noticed when wearing the Jeter Throwback was how great of a grip I had on the ground beneath my feet. ?Whether it be on the base path or in the grass, the shoes a firm grip of the surface beneath my feet. ?The multidirectional outsole really came into play when fielding ground balls in the warmups. ?Like with a basketball player the first step is crucial. ?For Derek Jeter, it is the difference between making an inning ending double play and a base-hit RBI against his squad. ?The Jeter Throwback also featured other important components including a protected asymmetric toe drag, external shank for added support, and a 5/8ths cut for extra ankle protection.

The Jordan Jeter Throwback is available now at select Jordan Brand retailers nationwide including online at Finishline and Eastbay for $100.
