\n Obviously, Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan, found himself at the center of brand battle between Jordan Brand and Adidas last year (see our Top 9 Sneaker Stories of ’09). Although the University of Central Florida was<\/em> an Adidas-sponsored school, Marcus Jordan ultimately wore stayed loyal to his dad’s brand and wore Air Jordans on the court. Adidas terminated its contract with UCF; however we have just learned that UCF has just signed a contract with Nike. It is funny how things turn out some times, right?<\/p>\n In detail, UCF and Nike agreed upon a five-year contract in which Nike will provide shoes and apparel for all sports at the university. “We had explored a number of different options with a number of different manufacturers and equipment providers and ultimately we have reached an agreement with Nike,” said David Chambers, UCF executive associate athletic director.<\/p>\n UCF’s deal with adidas ends June 30, and the newly-developed Nike pact officially begins July 1.
