First seen back in January on the runway during Paris Fashion Week, the adidas Y-3 BYW BBall stands as the next-generation performance hoops shoe for the three stripes subsidiary helmed by Yohji Yamamoto. The shoe debuted at retailers this past February, releasing in conjunction with NBA MVP James Harden.

Now of its own volition removed from Harden as a visual aid, the latest colorway still leans into the Houston Rockets guard with a color palette that is easily likened to his team’s uniforms. Set in a red base with black accents, white podular Boost cushioning drives home the Rockets theme whether its intentional or pure coincidence.

The Boost You Wear cushioning system, of course, pulls from the Feet You Wear technology adidas first introduced by in the ’90s. It’s since re-emerged both in the basketball and lifestyle sector with Boost at its center.

This new adidas Y-3 BYW BBall Red/Black is available now for $450 at Sneakersnstuff.
