Jordan Brand honors Carmelo Anthony’s 15th season with a proper retail release of the long-adored Air Jordan 2 “Melo” PE. A gem from his 2004 season in the Mile High City, this release both marks a celebration of Melo’s decade and a half mark in the league as well as a reminder that famed player exclusives of old are never gone forever.

As the years went by, dating back to Carmelo’s earliest seasons in Denver, it was assumed that this Air Jordan 2 would never formally see a widespread release. Considering it’s been 14 years since Melo first laced them up, those assumptions weren’t at all far-fetched.

Leave it to Jordan Brand to right the ship at the tail end of Melo’s NBA tenure. A grail for many who remember Melo’s high-flying days with the Nuggets, this weekend’s release both closes a chapter for Melo and Jordan, respectively.
