It’s safe to say LeBron James and John Elliott are fans of each other.

The former who makes his living on the hardwood has arrived to work many a time this season in offerings from the designer ranging from sporty basics up top to lifestyle takes on famous footwear gems from Nike. Dressed for success, the King knighted tonight’s Game 4 arrival by debuting a new shoe from JE and Nike that’s got DNA from LeBron’s line itself.

Confirmed as the John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon, this new model is a drastic departure from Elliott’s work on the Vandal and the Air Force 1. A 3/4 cut upper screams basketball from a Sportswear sense, with retro tongue branding and technical tooling echoing such sentiments. As far as design goes and how it relates to LeBron, a full-length Air Max sole offers a direct reference to the LeBron 8 with upper details conjuring the construction on the LeBron 8 V2.

While Cavs fans certainly don’t want to see LeBron taking it back to 2010 as far as footwear or anything else is concerned, it’s definitely dope to see Elliott referencing something so recent and LeBron himself debuting it. Just the same, the designer took to IG to show the shoe in a blank tonal take.
