To celebrate the changing of the year, Nike has used their Cortez as a base for the Year of the Tiger tribute.

A tiger stripes-inspired print appears in gold along the sides of both shoes. Animal hair is used on the toe, heel, midfoot and Swoosh, as well as the heel. Starks laces are used and don a similar print to the mid-panels. Red accents appear around the ankle area and a representation of the Chinese calendar is embossed on the tongue. A white and black midsole is used as a base. 200 pairs will release with a specially-designed box that uses a similar design to the shoe. The box opens with 5 finger holes, much the way a tiger would be forced to open it if it had opposible thumbs. These will release February 10th with the special box and the 13th with a standard box in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

|
