To say the first colorway of the Pippen signature hybrid Nike Air Max A Lot wasn’t very well received may be one of the bigger understatements ever made on this site. The Rasta-inspired look just didn’t work. Now we’re seeing a far more subtle design in this Black/Red-White pair that could change a lot of opinions about this shoe.

The entire upper is black on this pair, but multiple materials have been chosen. Patent leather starts it off on the toe, while perforated suede provides a base layer for the remainder. A bit of nubuck is also used on the heel tab, where Nike appears in script front in white and red. The midsole is red and white, and the large “AIR” text on the upper matches its base with its all black approach.

|
