Late last year, when Jordan Brand launches it digital museum comprised of rarities, one-offs and unreleased samples, it brought to life a few never-before-seen styles and others that have been lightly visible for years. Where the latter is concerned there was an Air Jordan 5 of the “Bred” variety. A similar shoe may release this summer.

Although images of the retail pair in question are not currently available, the Air Jordan 5 that appeared in the digital gallery could bear a close resemblance to the Black/University Red shoe set to release this summer. The earliest indicator from leaker pinoe77 is that this Air Jordan 5 Black/University Red will release on July 14.

This, of course, is the continuation of a trend where Jordan Brand has released retooled samples and rare player exclusives. Several pairs from Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony have released in recent years, while the Air Jordan 9 Black/Red that released earlier this year was a variation of an elder Team Jordan PE wore by Derek Anderson.

Colorway: Black/University RedAir Jordan 5 Retro
