For the past 13 weeks, we’ve been breaking down what’s in certain celebrity wardrobes and identifying how many looks each individual has, while showing how they pair these looks with their footwear rotation. During the month of April, we’re going to be switching it up and pinpointing what some of the most popular designers are wearing at the moment.

To kick things off, we figured we’d begin this adaptation with someone who’s probably the most relevant in the current events section – Virgil Abloh. Virgil is a renowned DJ, the style maven who was behind the scenes of Kanye’s career, and the creator of mainstay streetwear brand, OFF-WHITE. Most recently, he was appointed to creative director of Louis Vuitton this past month, which comes to no surprise since his OFF-WHITE venture was the avenue that was supposed to build him the credibility to do so. It wasn’t really a matter of if Virgil was going to work for one of the house fashion labels, it was which one.

There’s no hiding from camo in fashion right now. Whether that’s an all-over Bape print, a woodland camo North Face x Supreme jacket, or the essential army jacket by OFF-WHITE, there’s just no escaping it. And who better to attest than the latter’s founder Virgil Abloh, who wears the pattern with ease regularly. For Virgil, he swings to the extremes, rights and lefts, and polar opposites when it comes to fashion. And that goes for camouflage designs, too.

Some days he’ll wear a very loud orange woodland camo jacket and pair those with some vibrant green Flyknit Trainers just to make sure nobody missed what he picked out for that day. Yet somehow, he pulls these sorts of looks off even though it seems a bit farfetched.

A key factor for these style moves is that Virgil ensures that each piece is relatively simple in its overall design, meaning nothing has too many design elements other than the actual hue of the piece itself. Another example would be of one of the pics below, featuring Virgil wearing camo cargo pants with a royal blue sweatshirt. Aside from the colors, they are both fairly simple in terms of their design, but adding some prism to the picture certainly makes them more noticable.

No Hiding from Camo (Or Any Other Patterns)
