Yesterday was a frustrating one for the sneaker community at large. Many of us were dialed into our desktops, laptops and phones from 1pm EST to a little after 3pm EST with the same hopes: to score a pair (or nine) of Vigil Abloh’s OFF White x Nike “The Ten” collection.

Nike’s SNKRS App, however, wasn’t on our side. Due to insane amounts of traffic, the app was riddled with technical difficulties leaving many unable to secure the pairs they so desperately desired.

Nike, to the Wall Street Journal’s Sara Germano, made an official statement regarding the technical issues citing “unprecedented level of demand” during “The Ten” release. The shoes – which sold out in minutes – were originally set to be released through Nike’s The Draw program but was scrapped, also due to overwhelming demand.

At this time, there doesn’t appear to be a re-release for the “The Ten” forthcoming. However, it is expected that Virgil and Nike will continue to work together in 2018. Take a look at Nike’s full statement to the WSJ below and see what it was like for many trying to cop “The The” yesterday here.
