{"id":562764,"date":"2019-08-01T10:52:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T14:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/?p=562764"},"modified":"2024-03-01T08:03:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-01T14:03:18","slug":"nike-air-ship-throwback-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/nike-air-ship-throwback-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"#TBT \/\/ Nike Airship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today&#8217;s <em>Throwback Thursday<\/em> celebrates when a young Michael Jordan made his NBA debut in what would become the successor to his signature line and a controversial kick still to this day: the <strong>Nike Airship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worn in a league-appropriate White\/Red makeup, the of the times design propelled Jordan before the Air nickname to 16 points, six rebounds and seven assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Michael Jordan - NBA Debut (26.10.1984)\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6Z_xIU02xpw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most importantly, they won. Beating the Bullets in Chicago, it&#8217;s tough to tell if The Windy City had any idea of the star they landed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just the same, the brand in Beaverton and MJ&#8217;s agent David Falk had lofty expectations on how Mike could move the &#8216;signature athlete&#8217; from tennis to basketball and also from white to black.
