Believe it or not, the Nike Air More Uptempo “Knicks” is undeniably inspired by the thunderous facial Scottie Pippen threw down on Patrick Ewing back in the ’90s. The vignette surrounding the Bulls vs. Knicks star-studded, physically charged rivalry is one for the ages. All the same, so is the Air More Uptempo.

Set to release later this month on September 19, the shoe largely worn by Pippen receives a Knickerbockers makeover with white leather joined by blue and orange accents. The number 33 marks the shoe’s heel, clearly an ode to Pippen yet not necessarily a slight to Ewing. The insole, though, tells the true story, as it clearly shows one figure towering over another for a dunk.

Grab a closer look at the “Knicks” Uptempo’s below and let us know if you plan to cop.

Colorway: White/Deep Royal Blue-Team OrangeNike Air More Uptempo “Knicks”
