Skepta is in full shutdown mode with his upcoming Nike Air Max 97 Sk collaboration. Inspired by a trip to Essaouisa, Morocco, a haven for rockstars during the ’60s given its coastal allure, vivid colors and captivating earthy texture, the London-born grime artist/activist of Nigerian decent may very well have the best collaborative sneaker of the year by many accounts.

Moroccan shades certainly play a part in the design concept that was also informed by a favorite Swoosh gem of Skepta’s – the Nike Air Tuned Max OG originally released in 1999. The shoe also sees the SK Air logo in the shape of the British flag on the insole, which is printed in a theme synonymous with Moroccan culture. Other indigenous odes to Morocco help shape this uniquely placed and crafted collaboration.

Take a detailed look at the Nike Air Max 97 Sk below and expect the release on September 2 on Nike.com and SNKRS.
