For our latest My 5<\/em>, we had a chance to sit down and talk with artist, producer and founding member of\u00a0HBK Gang,\u00a0P-Lo<\/strong>. P-Lo has produced hit songs such as Yo Gotti\u2019s \u201cAct Right\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cBout Me\u201d\u00a0for\u00a0Wiz Khalifa.\u00a0P-Lo is one of the leading new artist creating the sound for the next generation of Bay Area musicians.<\/p>\n

Growing up as a Filipino-American, music was a centerpiece of his family\u2019s household. Listening to Kanye West\u2019s debut album,\u00a0The College Dropout<\/em>, P-Lo\u00a0decided to take his love of music and put it into action. P-Lo started making beats at home, which eventually caught the attention of his high school classmate\u00a0Iamsu!.\u00a0P-Lo and Iamsu! formed the HBK Gang, an influential Bay Area collective, and shortly afterword teamed up with his brother,\u00a0Kuya Beats\u00a0to form the production team\u00a0The Invasion.<\/p>\n

P-Lo has additionally produced for many others including,\u00a0E-40, and\u00a0Nef The Pharaoh. P-Lo also just recently released solo album,\u00a0More Than Anything<\/em>. Check out what\u2019s in P-Lo\u2019s rotation below.<\/p>\n

P-Lo:<\/strong>\u00a0I wear them because not a lot of people wear them but they still have that classic silhouette and I tend to wear shorts being that I\u2019m from California and they look better with shorts.<\/p>\n

P-Lo:<\/strong>\u00a0Classic shoes, all purpose, I can wear them dirty or clean. Plus growing up off The Pack\u2019s music, they\u2019re the ones that made me really start wearing them, it\u2019s a Bay Area thing.<\/p>\n

P-Lo:<\/strong> I\u2019m not really into hella hype shit, but I just liked them so much because they\u2019re gold and they\u2019re loud. Sometimes you want to pull up with some shoes that are going to break necks.<\/p>\n

P-Lo:<\/strong> The Flyknits are a casual shoe for me. I\u2019m all about comfort. The colorway is bright and loud yet still has an athletic feel.<\/p>\n
