{"id":548833,"date":"2017-07-31T17:59:12","date_gmt":"2017-07-31T21:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/?p=548833"},"modified":"2017-07-31T19:04:57","modified_gmt":"2017-07-31T23:04:57","slug":"nike-cuts-ties-with-asap-bari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/nike-cuts-ties-with-asap-bari\/","title":{"rendered":"Nike Severs Ties with VLONE designer A$AP Bari"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following controversy surrounding sexual assault allegations aimed at collaborator\u00a0<strong>A$AP Bari<\/strong>, <strong>Nike<\/strong> has cut ties with the Harlem fashion designer.<\/p>\n<p>Snkrs Day received the following statement from a Nike source regarding the current status of their relationship with Bari: <em>&#8220;We can confirm we are no longer working together.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, an extremely problematic and disturbing video surfaced with Bari and a young woman, quickly going viral and prompting questions Bari would soon need to address. He responded via a social media post where he seemed remorseful for his actions. The fallout from the video was more than enough for Nike to end their short-lived partnership with the A$AP Mob member.<\/p>\n<p>Nike began working with Bari and his label, <strong>VLONE<\/strong>, in 2016. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/vlone-x-nike-air-force-1\/\">His first Nike collaboration<\/a> released last fall at Complex Con, a premium <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/tag\/nike-air-force-1-low\/\">Air Force 1 Low<\/a> then dropped again in January at New York Fashion Week. It was reported that more VLONE\u00a0collaborative releases were in the works, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/tag\/nike-vandal\/\">Nike Vandal<\/a> collection recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/vlone-x-nike-vandal-high-collection-debuted-paris-fashion-week\/\">revealed during Paris Fashion Week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s safe to assume that any forthcoming VLONE x Nike releases will be scrapped with the termination of their partnership.
