Well, this isn’t exactly a huge surprise.

As I (perhaps strongly) called out Skechers last month, it appears Nike was also equally fed up with the brand’s lack of original design effort, to put it nicely.

Just yesterday, Nike filed suit in Portland, Oregon, taking Skechers to task for once again ripping off the design and innovation that the Swoosh has increasingly guarded. Specifically, Nike alleges that the Skechers Burst, Women’s Flex Appeal, Men’s Flex Advantage, Girl’s Skech Appeal and Boy’s Flex Advantage models all blatantly infringed on Nike’s design patents.

The lawsuit states that the “overall appearance of the designs of the Nike patents and the corresponding designs of Skechers’ infringing shoes are substantially the same.” Which, they sure as hell are, as you can see below. The Skechers Burst, a sheer embarrassment in footwear form, also conveniently rips off adidas’ Boost technology too.

We’ll keep you posted once we get official word that adidas is also suing the hell out of Skechers, since we’re definitely expecting it. You can read the full Nike vs Skechers lawsuit claim below.
