In his continued efforts to “Strive for Greatness,” LeBron James doesn’t mind stopping to recognize greatness as well.

Last night, during a trip to TD Garden where the Cavs topped the Celtics, James showed his appreciation for Special Olympian Aaron Miller, who was on hand at the game.

During a timeout, James walked over to Miller and gave him a pat on the shoulder and a thumbs up. Miller, thrilled by James’ recognition, suffers from severe brain damage, yet remains a superior athlete, playing for his high school’s golf and basketball teams.

After the game, James gifted Miller his game-worn Nike LeBron 13‘s from off his feet. Miller, as you may have guessed, already has a LeBron James shoe: the Flyease Solider 8, designed with unique specifications for disabled athletes. This, like many other moments before it, reminds us that it’s always bigger than just sneakers (and basketball). Cheers, Bron.
