{"id":473843,"date":"2016-03-02T15:32:53","date_gmt":"2016-03-02T20:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/?p=473843"},"modified":"2019-01-23T02:33:22","modified_gmt":"2019-01-23T07:33:22","slug":"careful-instagram-running-ads-fake-shoes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/careful-instagram-running-ads-fake-shoes\/","title":{"rendered":"Be careful, Instagram is running ads for fake shoes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>words \/\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snkrsday.com\/author\/nickdepaula\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nick DePaula:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Instagram first launched its in-feed ads, the spin was that Kevin Systrom, the company&#8217;s CEO, was personally reviewing and providing feedback to each brand partner before an ad was pushed live onto its base of around 400 million users.<\/p>\n<p>Since that first wave of careful consideration, and in the interest of explosive profits, Instagram has pretty much removed all of the initial quality barriers to advertising on the app.<\/p>\n<p>There are incredibly low restraints now to running an ad for your fledgling company, whether you&#8217;re a smaller, distinctly fake knockoff sneaker brand or a major corporate brand with a really bad campaign to push.<\/p>\n<p>For the sneaker community, the targeted ads you may have seen lately are peddling an endless amount of fake sneakers. Mostly Air Maxes and Yeezys.
