Summer was eventful in regards to sneaker releases.<\/p>\n
There were tons of great shoe drops from each one of the major sneaker brands, making this one of the most well-rounded summers yet. Air Jordan 10 “OVO”<\/strong><\/p>\n One of the most sought-after releases of the summer,\u00a0Drizzy\u2019s OVO 10s were first released at a pop-up shop in LA before hitting retailers in limited quantity earlier this month.\u00a0Jordan 23 branding shared the limelight with the\u00a0signature OVO owl and the diamond OVO logo on this simple yet stylish makeup of the 10.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air Penny “Sharpie” Pack<\/b><\/p>\n Nike Sportswear gave\u00a0Penny Hardaway\u2019s signature line another chapter with the release of the Air Penny 6. To strengthen the release of the hybrid-like model, Nike also incorporated the Air Foamposite One release inspired by Penny’s moment of \u00a0wearing\u00a0the \u201cDark Neon Royal\u201d Foam in a game and coloring the indented ridges with a black sharpie to comply with league uniform rules.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Chuck Taylor II<\/strong><\/p>\n Converse offered up its\u00a0first major update to Chuck Taylor. Respectfully named\u00a0the Chuck Taylor All Star II, the sneaker came complete with\u00a0Nike\u2019s Lunarlon technology, a foam-padded collar and a non-slip gusseted tongue – same silhouette, updated tech.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Yeezy 350 Grey & Black<\/strong><\/p>\n The low-cut,\u00a0Primeknit\u00ae-textured, one-piece Yeezy 350 was probably the most anticipated release of the summer in both colorways.\u00a0Its\u00a0effortlessly casual look – in addition to the BOOST system it possesses – made it a no-brainer to the entire sneaker space.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Premier x New Balance 998<\/strong><\/p>\n The first ever collaboration between\u00a0Premier and New Balance was a dandy. The combination of black and tan suedes on the 998 was, not only an amazing contrast but also played into the backstory, which is inspired by Michigan\u2019s rich automotive history. The collaborative effort dropped around this time last month exclusively at Premier.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Curry One “MVP”<\/strong><\/p>\n Right before Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Under Armour honored and released a special MVP-inspired colorway of his Curry One signature sneaker.\u00a0Black and\u00a0gold treatment – different from most GSW colorups – dominated the upper in a gradient graphic along the base. It also served as one of the sought-after basketball shoe releases of the year so far.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Ventilator<\/strong><\/p>\n Kendrick Lamar is about portraying a message, and his collaborative effort with Reebok did the same. The TDE rapper and Reebok created\u00a0Ventilator, which aimed to unite the gangs of his hometown of Compton: Bloods and Crips.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Takashi Murakami x Vans Slip-On<\/strong><\/p>\n Accompanying the apparel and deck release between Vans and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, both sides unveiled an artsy series of\u00a0the timeless Slip-On. Murakami\u2019s signature anime-inspired flower and skull graphics appreall all over\u00a0the canvas upper.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ronnie Fieg x Diamond Supply x ASICS<\/strong><\/p>\n Ronnie Fieg teamed up with West Coast skate brand Diamond Supply Co. and ASICS on two classic models: ASICS GEL Saga and ASICS GEL-Lyte V. the \u00a0The collaborative efforts brought the skate and sportswear market together not to mention the East Coast and the West Coast.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sneaker Freaker x PUMA Blaze of Glory<\/strong><\/p>\n To celebrate the Jaws’\u00a040th\u00a0anniversary, Sneaker Freaker and Packer Shoes teamed up for a new colorway\u00a0of the Puma Blaze of Glory dubbed the “Bloodbath.”<\/p>\n The shoe was inspired by\u00a0the terror and blood-stained waters caused by Jaws and featured some corresponding apparel collection with the release.\u00a0The brands set up a pop-up shop in New York City to sell aforementioned product.<\/p>\n [polldaddy poll=9094443]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Summer was eventful in regards to sneaker releases.
