Earlier today in Johannesburg, South Africa, the NBA and several of the league’s top players hosted an exhibition game for the first time ever on the continent, matching up various international players against players with African ties.

In the Team World vs Team Africa format, Chris Paul, Bradley Beal, Jeff Green, Pau & Marc Gasol and many others represented for the international players, while Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luol Deng, Nic Batum and Boris Diaw led the African squad.

During the second quarter, NBA icons Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo even each stripped off their sideline suits, only to don custom throwback Rockets and Nuggets unis and play a few minutes in a welcome surprise for the home crowd. The 52 year-old Hakeem even showed off some vintage footwork and knocked down a turnaround jumper on Nikola Vucevic, bringing the fans and players alike to their feet.

While most players wore their standard team colorways of last season’s models, there was one major surprise — Chris Paul debuted his upcoming new Jordan CP3.IX model.
