With news arriving this week that Nike and the Jordan Brand are looking to make headway within the realm of NBA apparel licensing, it seems as though these iconic entities are looking to further secure their pole position within the sneaker and apparel world. However, this news couldn’t come at a more fitting time as next weekend, the latest “team inspired” Air Jordan is set to hit retailers in the Air Jordan 13 Low “Hornets”<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Air Jordan 1<\/h2>\n

The first model or model(s) for that matter to be discussed within this realm of “team inspired” Air Jordans is obviously the Air Jordan 1. Since its inception back in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 ushered in a new wave of signature lines and changed our viewpoints on the sneaker culture completely.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, this categorical change doesn’t happen without the iconic play of one Michael Jordan. Throughout his illustrious career he was able to indulge in memorable moments such as his 63-point performance against Boston Celtics during the 1986 NBA playoffs (still an NBA playoff record)<\/em>, which inspired the “Celtic” hue(s) of the Air Jordan 1. In addition, his time against various prominent teams and fan bases, produced models such as the “Knicks” and “Hawks” colorways, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming out of Syracuse, Carmelo Anthony was a hot commodity within the endorsement world. With his star beginning to rise within a very top heavy draft class that included the likes of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony would ink a deal with the Jordan Brand. With a signature line surely to arrive down the road, ‘Melo would sport of variety of intriguing Air Jordan PEs, including this Air Jordan 2 model that would hit select retailers in 2004.<\/span><\/p>\n
