Debuting in 1985, the shoe turned trial to triumph, making its NBA banning a banner advertising campaign and the birth of a cultural icon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Nearly a decade later, the shoe came back in the first run of retros only to see sale racks and &#8216;too-soon&#8217; tagging. The early 2000s would see a resurgent run of the model thanks to clean and classic colorways of the Japanese and American origin, while the late 2000s would see the AJ1 enter the Dunk dungeon of watered down abundance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">By the 2010s, the Air Jordan 1 would receive street style endorsement from Kanye West and his camp, making the model a must have for fly guys and gals around the world. Well timed retros with original detailing would also raise the profile of the strong silo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">While OG cuts and OG makeups still prove to be king, a unique range of collaborative colorways have kept the AJ1 interesting over the course of the last seven years. Sizing issues made these somewhat of a tough sell, but in hindsight most fans of the AJ1 wish they would&#8217;ve coughed up the extra cash just to have a pair of these.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Dave White x Air Jordan 1<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Year:<\/strong> 2012<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Only built for giving back, the Dave White x Air Jordan 1 released to retail as part of the brand&#8217;s Wings for the Future initiative in 2012. While the previous year saw a gold-graced do-up that only launched to the tune of 23 pairs in a charity action, this elephant-emphasized official release was well-received at retail. Artist Dave White had the following to say on the collab:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><em>&#8220;The absolute intent was to make something that actually looked animated and dynamic, explosive and alive even when standing still. I wanted the shoe to almost look like it had been dipped in paint and is exploding with energy. As people see them in the flesh all the little touches that make them special will unveil themselves. The use of artist grade canvas on the tongue, textured paint printed onto white upper, the laces and sock liners with the stitched wings logo and the box really is the icing on the cake.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Nike SB x Air Jordan 1<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Year:<\/strong> 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">For years, rumors of a Nike SB x Air Jordan collab floated around Nike Talk and flirted with the imagination of skate and hoops fans alike. While most people expected something grandeur like an Air Jordan 3 or low brow like a Nu&#8217; Retro 1, the official pairing kept it classic in 2014 with the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1. Crafted in a colorway made by multimedia artist Craig Stecyk, the shoe featured a bold black and green blend. The shoe made a splash but in many ways came and went as they were hard to find and lightly promoted. Needless to say, they had more in the works&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Lance Mountain x Nike SB x Air Jordan 1<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Year:<\/strong> 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">When you&#8217;re as big as Jordan Brand, it&#8217;s hard to please everybody. That said, JB did the impossible in 2014 with the Lance Mountain x Nike SB x Air Jordan 1. Catering to old school skaters, current collectors and fashion fanatics alike, the LM AJ1s brought a rare blend of nostalgia and individuality. The paint shredding upper made for a rare collectible pair that people actually wanted to wear and beat up. Winner, winner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Public School x Air Jordan 1<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Year:<\/strong> 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Limited to 50 pairs and distributed on a friends and fam first basis, the Public School x Air Jordan 1 &#8220;PS23&#8221; laid the footprints for what is now an ongoing relationship. Shortly after, an inline version of their AJ1 collab, the &#8220;NY23,&#8221; launched in limited fashion at Jordan Brand&#8217;s Flight 23 Footaction store in NYC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>fragment design x Air Jordan 1<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Year:<\/strong> 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Based off the &#8220;Black Toes&#8221; in theory, the fragment design x Air Jordan 1 elected blues over Bulls for a familiar yet fresh take.
