Since we just got the news about the return of Adidas Torsion classics such as the Adidas Bank Shot, I wanted to pull something out from the pile that would be relevant. Torsion came in the late 80s but is still used in Adidas footwear today. Through many adaptations the system can be found in shoes ranging in use from running to tennis to even cleats. Torsion became a staple “must have” in basketball shoes since its first use and one of the shoes that can best be remembered for this is the early 90’s Adidas Artillery series.

This pair that we had is from 1992 and at the time was worn by many collegiate athletes. More specifically, the Adidas Artillery Lite Mid was something more universal as a team shoe than other heavyweight hightops of its day. Not long after this shoe came the introduction of Adidas Equipment that borrowed the tough TPU cage on the side of the shoes that give the shoe a better hold across the foot and lateral stability.

On the sole you can see the Torsion System connecting the heel to the forefoot with signatory cut aways of the sole at the middle of the foot. This gave the shoe extra flexibility but maintaining the support necessary to prevent injuries.

Throwback Thursday took a little break as the luck of the draw had me traveling on the fourth day of each week for a while, but keep it locked here each Thursday for something great that should not be forgotten.

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid

Adidas Artillery Lite Mid Box – it had better days in 1992

Since we just got the news about the return of Adidas Torsion classics such as the Adidas Bank Shot, I…

[19,34
1225462,1225484

2":"type-post

|
