It’s hard not to like John Wall— unless you’re guarding him. Blessed with fast feet and a big heart, the Carolina kid by way of Kentucky has raised his approval rating in DC by making the Wizards a legit conference contender for the first time since Wes Unseld was throwing outlets.

Powering Barack’s backcourt, John is cool and calm during business hours but always electric. Off the court? Not much different. Balanced outfits with loud launches, clean kicks from famous friends and snow stompers turned Southern staples all compose a comfortable collection that’s still full of highlights. We chatted with JW recently to hear exactly what he’s rocking these day for the latest installment of My 5.

John Wall: “I like those. I’m a person that likes loud colors at times. I’ll wear all-black and throw those in the mix. I like Big Sean, he’s nice and has good music.”

John Wall: “I really like the new Yeezys. It’s exciting to have Kanye on the team. I had the opportunity to go to his fashion show and I know he’s pretty big on fashion. I’m trying to bring some more fashion to adidas and change some things around on and off the court. To have him be a part of adidas means a lot. Hopefully I can work with him in the future on some of my stuff.”

John Wall: “Since I’ve got them I’ve been wearing them a lot to practice and when we go to other cities. Pusha T is one of my good friends in the industry so it’s pretty exciting. He hooked me up with them and when I saw them I sent him a pair of my stuff. We’re real cool.”

John Wall: “My favorite colorway is probably the “Christmas” pair. I like those a lot and I just like style. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to wear my own shoe with clothes off the court and be able to play basketball in them. That’s the biggest key to selling shoes these days: the colorways and if you can rock them with gear.”

John Wall: “I just like all-black or wheat Timbs. Being from the South, that’s what I like to wear when it gets cold. It gets cold down in North Carolina– it’s not like most southern places– so I definitely wear some Timbs.”

It’s hard not to like John Wall— unless you’re guarding him.
