Russell Westbrook may have won MVP of the All-Star Game (well deserved, by the way), but one could argue that Kanye West was the MVP of All-Star Weekend.

The man that goes to the Garden and plays 1-on-1,000 proved that performer signatures have just as much or more clout than performance sneakers as fans flocked to the adidas store in SoHo to pick up their Yeezy Boosts via the Confirmed App or even just snap a shot for the ‘gram in front of the shoe’s outdoor display space.

While Kanye left his footprint on the sneaker scene, his first fashion show with The Three Stripes (sidebar, we called this about a year and a half ago) drew more attention than any other event pertaining to Fashion Week, All-Star or even SNL40, which he also had his hand in.

Of the lucky and deserving media outlets that got to speak to Mr. West were Complex and Style.com. Both interviews find Kanye considering clothes as a way to assist everyday life rather than a means to value it. From his sincere respect for other designers to his desire to one day be creative director for the Gap (cues “Spaceship”), there are lots of good takeaways in both pieces.
