Adidas is celebrating the ZX series this year in a three release aZX Project that gives 24 of the top shops, artists, and tastemakers to interpret timeless ZX silhouettes how they see fit. The latter part of ZX series, namely the ZX 7000, 8000, and 9000, were some of the first Adidas Running shoes to feature the Torsion System. The Torsion System provides midfoot support that allows the forefoot and heel to move independently for better surface adaptation and stability. Torsion is also lightweight and allows designers to remove extra rubber from the sole in the middle of the shoe cutting down even more on the weight of the sneaker.<\/p>\n
Starting in January, Adidas will bring back some of the early shoes that used the Torsion system. On the running side Adidas brings us the ZX 7000, ZX 8000, ZX 9000, and Torsion Racer. Adidas also is bringing back the first Torsion basketball shoe, Adidas Torsion Bank Shot, and a high top for the ladies, the Adidas Torsion Sleek.<\/p>\n
