Furthermore, Michael Jordan was oft-injured in this model, making the memories and storytelling far tougher than that of its contemporaries.<\/p>\n<p>Is it still a great shoe? Absolutely, and underrated at that. While only four colorways were originally released, the model has become an unlikely catalyst for collaboration and premium release. On the eve of the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 launch, we take a look at some of the AJ2s that have received spruced up materials or collaborative tagging.<\/p>\n<h2>Air Jordan 2 &#8220;Doernbecher&#8221;<\/h2>\n photo via Kixclusive\n<p><strong>Released:<\/strong> 2007<\/p>\n<p>The first Air Jordan to get a Doernbecher design, then 15-year old Sheridan Brenton placed his school colors on a black base for this courageous colorway, popping with a paisley print and his favorite proverb. After going through numerous surgeries to repair an arm that had been detached during a car accident, his story and spirit remains inspiring and his shoes still remain a collectible and a strong fashion statement.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Eminem x Air Jordan 2 &#8220;The Way I Am&#8221;<\/h2>\n photo via Kixclusive\n<p><strong>Released:<\/strong> 2008<\/p>\n<p>Creative cross promotion, the Eminem x Air Jordan 2 &#8220;The Way I Am&#8221; boosted his book of the same title. Released as an online exclusive and limited to only 313 pairs, this collabo still holds a special place in the heart of AJ collectors and Slim Shady fans.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Air Jordan 2 Premio &#8220;Bin 23&#8221;<\/h2>\n photo by Kixclusive\n<p><strong>Released:<\/strong> 2010<\/p>\n<p>Was the &#8220;Bin 23&#8221; line ahead of its time? All signs would point to yes. Dropping years before remastered retros or the lavish &#8220;Champagne &amp; Cigars&#8221; Pack, these Premio pairs were all things luxe. The Air Jordan 2 &#8220;Bin 23&#8221; was no exception but rather the rule, rocking legit leather and cigar styling.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Vashtie Kola x Air Jordan 2<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Released:<\/strong> 2010<\/p>\n<p>Known for wearing many hats professionally and many shoes fashionably, Vashite Kola became the first woman to design an Air Jordan via her AJ2 collab. Done up in lush lavender, gals and guys alike would love to see these come back.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2>Just Don x Air Jordan 2<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Released:<\/strong> 2015<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by his wife&#8217;s Chanel bag, these quilted Air Jordan 2s pack more than just a heavy name.
