With the NFL season winding down and College Hoops and NBA action beginning to heat up, a variety of marquee names have dominated the landscape of hoops. For starters, John Calipari continues to turn freshman pups into seasoned veterans as the Kentucky Wildcats are firmly entrenched with the number one spot in college hoops, as well as being a College Kicks On Court staple. In addition, the NBA has witnessed the stellar play of John Wall and Anthony Davis, two individuals that have placed themselves amongst elite in the NBA. So, when you have this much Kentucky Wildcat influence dominating hoops, it’s only right that we provide you with the Kentucky Wildcats All-Time 5; an interactive look at the greatest sneakerheads that all hail from the same university. To see who made our list, flip through the pages below and let us know in the comments section if your favorite Wildcat made the cut.

Upon his arrival into the league, plenty of media pundits elaborated on all of the things Rajon Rondo couldn’t do. However, fast forward nearly ten years later and the lanky point guard from Louisville, Kentucky has easily cemented himself as being one of the best point guards within the entire NBA; and to be honest, that’s been true for some time now. Nonetheless, despite Rondo being considered a “veteran” at this point in his career, his sneaker rotation has not subsided since his arrival within the Association.

Starting with Reebok, Rondo immediately caught the attention of sneaker enthusiasts as he helped the Celtics defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals while sporting a variety of Reebok Basketball PE’s. Within the next year, Rondo would make the switch over to Nike, and in successive years would sport a variety of notable silhouettes such as the Nike Hyperposite, Nike Foampostie One, Air Jordan 9, and the Nike Huarache 2k4 silhouettes, respectively. While the Nike PEs can be impeccable, Rondo decided to make the unprecedented move and inked a deal with Chinese brand footwear Anta, in which Rondo was able to garner his very own signature model, which became the Anta Rondo and the Anta Rondo 2. Going forward, this stellar guard makes the Dallas Mavericks a formidable power in the Western Conference, and his quality, yet consistent sneaker rotation secures his spot within our list.

Eric Bledsoe for most of his basketball career has seemingly been “the forgotten one.” Upon his arrival to Lexington, he was paired in a backcourt with arguably one of the most highly-touted prospects in recent years: John Wall. Fast forward to the 2010 NBA Draft, Bledsoe was the fourth Wildcat selected in the first round, only to be traded to the Clippers were he would then sit behind perennial NBA All-Star Chris Paul. However, since his move to the Phoenix Suns, Bledsoe is receiving his just-do as the bulky guard has recently inked a $70-plus million dollar extension as well as garnering averages of nearly 18 points per game, 5 assists and 4 rebounds last season.

Now while the previously denoted statistics are encouraging, its Bledsoe’s footwear that catches our eye. With an array of Nike LeBron models, “Baby LeBron” as many call him, seems to take his nickname to heart. We’ve seen Bledsoe rock the likes of the Nike Zoom Soldier VIII, Nike LeBron 12 and the Nike LeBron X silhouettes.

John Wall is blazing fast. While that adjective may be a little anti-climatic for a variety of reasons, the addition of Paul Pierce to an already solid Washington Wizards roster has solidified Wall and the Wiz’s chances to contend for a title. In addition to Wall’s aforementioned speed, the guard’s stellar defense has placed the Wiz amongst the best in the league, while Wall continues to dazzle on offense as well, as his season averages of 17 points per game, 10 assists and 4 rebounds, has made Wall an All-NBA candidate.

However, Wall’s illustrious, and at times tumultuous sneaker journey makes him a candidate for Kentucky’s All-Time 5. Coming out of Kentucky, Wall inked a deal with iconic footwear brand Reebok in order to follow in the footsteps of his childhood idol Allen Iverson. Through Wall’s first year, the North Carolina-native sported a variety of Reebok silhouettes such as the Reebok Question. Ultimately, through various uncertainties, Wall and a few other notable players ended up with adidas; thus creating a solid roster for the Three Stripes brand. Fast forward to 2014, Wall has garnered his very own signature model, the adidas J Wall 1 and secured a spot on our list. Things seem to be going well for Wall and company.

Things have been pretty tough for DeMarcus Cousins lately. First, his beloved head coach gets abruptly fired, his owner is toying with the possibility of playing 4-on-5 defense, and Boogie competes in the Western Conference were you conceivably need 50 wins to be an eighth seed. However, one bright spot in all of this madness occurring in the capital of California is the abundance of stellar kicks worn by DeMarcus Cousins. From Air Jordans to Nike Basketball staples to signature silhouettes, Boogie definitely understands how to dominate in style.

While DeMarcus may never command his very own signature model with Nike, his display of prominent footwear catches our very own George Kiel’s eye on a nightly basis. Furthermore, George caught up with Boogie during a recent trip to San Antonio as the Kings took on the Spurs. Nonetheless, this dominant presence roaming the paint for the Kings seems to be someone that forever have is opponents begging for mercy.

In what seems to be a recurring conversation between my closest friends is the near certainty that Anthony Davis is a top-5 player in the NBA, right now. Now while that assertion may be taboo to plenty of hoops enthusiasts, just check the guy’s stats and his rare athleticism that has the Pelicans competitive in the dominant Western Conference. Nonetheless, this third-year pro is well on his way to elite status, however, it’s his solid array of Nike PEs that easily makes him a member of Kentucky’s inaugural All-Time 5.

Incorporating the Nike Hyperposite 2014 into his repertoire as well as utilizing previous Hyperposite silhouettes, Davis seems primed to receive his very own signature model from Nike. Considering the guy has flourished at every level in Jordan and Nike models, the Swoosh need to go ahead and back up the Brinks Truck to the Davis residence.

With the NFL season winding down and College Hoops and NBA action beginning to heat up, a variety of marquee names have…

[1219126
607,1225889

2":"type-post
