As we all know, some make their living re-selling sneakers, but what about selling sneakers as an instrument for your freedom? Well, one\u00a0Framingham, MA\u00a0man experienced this firsthand when he had to get a little creative with his bail.<\/p>\n
With a warrant stemming from a possession charge, Jason Duval needed to make a payment of $450 or sit out his time in jail. And while financial hardship kept Duval from making the payment in full, acting judge\u00a0Douglas Stoddart allowed him to get inventive with payment solutions. In that, Duval offered up a pair of Nike sneakers he received for Christmas to pay his bail.<\/p>\n
The judge suggested that Duval could go to jail for a few days to do away with the court costs, but Duval didn’t like that option.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’ll give you a chance to be creative,\u201d Stoddart reportedly told him. \u201cIf you can come up with a creative idea to convince me that you’ll come back, I’ll work with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Judge Stoddart accepted the kicks as currency and dismissed the charges. Upon a $100 payment, Duval will get his sneakers back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
