After defeating Ohio State, with the entire squad rocking the Air Jordan 11 “Legend Blue”, North Carolina’s Mens Basketball team honored 5-year old cancer patient Elijah Serritt by hitting the hardwood in mismatched sneakers during this past Saturday’s game against the UAB Blazers. Seritt, who was adopted by the UAB program three years ago, is fighting an ongoing battle with pediatric cancer.<\/p>\n
While the Blazers are led by coach Jerod Haase, who played and served as an assistant for UNC coach Roy Williams, Haase and his squad use the mismatched kicks as a way to raise awareness. With the Tar Heels playing host during the previously mentioned game, they chose to participate in a sign of solidarity.
