While the Nike KD 7 continues to makes its retail rounds, its presence on its lead endorser has been non-existent. Since returning from foot surgery, Kevin Durant has reverted back to wearing the Nike KD 6. With some wondering if Nike is having a repeat of what occurred with LeBron and his shoe, its clear that the reigning MVP certainly finds some sort of comfort in his previous signature model. Debunking any cause for concern, Nike spokesperson Brian Strong provided some insight on Durant’s recent footwear selection by saying “KD will be wearing orthotic inserts as he returns from surgery on his right foot. The existing KD 6 shoe design is currently the best solution to accommodate the orthotic. The Nike design team is perfecting the KD7 to accommodate KD’s orthotic.” With Durant and the Thunder looking to restore order in the West, it will be interesting to see how things progress as the season moves on.
