Following up an earlier post that Nike is suing former designers who left for adidas\u00a0we have had the opportunity to gather some more information about the lawsuit and allegations made by Nike against the design trio. \u00a0We have listed them in\u00a0a quick list below.<\/p>\n
1) Nike claims\u00a0the\u00a0former designers, Marc Dolce, Mark Miner, and senior design director Denis Dekovic, started consulting for Adidas while still working for\u00a0Nike, violating their non-compete agreements.<\/p>\n
2) Nike said the designers made their plan in April and pitched Adidas on the concepts of an adidas design studio in Brooklyn called the Brooklyn Creative Design Studio.<\/p>\n
3) Nike alleges that the designers would bring with them to Adidas information about Nike’s plans\u00a0for the next few years in its running, sportswear and soccer categories.<\/p>\n
4) Nike claims the concept of the\u00a0Brooklyn Creative Design Studio was a knockoff of Nike’s design lab called the Innovation Kitchen.<\/p>\n
5) Nike alleges the designers copied design and business documents from their computers including drawings for an unreleased shoe made for a Nike’s athletes.<\/p>\n
6) Nike accuses the designers of\u00a0erasing incriminating emails and text messages from their work-issued cellphones and laptops to cover their tracks.<\/p>\n
7) Nike claims that Adidas knew of the non-compete agreements the designers had with their former employer and promised to pay for any legal fees in the wake of a lawsuit. \u00a0The non-compete agreement barred the designers from have any connection with Adidas during their employment and for one year after leaving Nike.<\/p>\n
8)\u00a0The case is Nike, Inc v Denis Dekovic, Marc Dolce, and Mark Miner, in the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for the County of Multnomah, No. 14-cv-18876 (will post suit when documents are obtained)<\/p>\n
