With another year gradually drawing to a close, sneakerheads have surely had their fill of retro releases. Brands all across the board dug deep into their respective crates to unearth some of their popular silhouettes in their most popular colorways. Keeping the tradition alive, we honor this year’s Thanksgiving holiday with a look back at some of the retro releases we were most thankful for.

From David Robinson to Billy Hoyle, this high-cut basketball gem was a welcomed retro after quite some time away. Though the $200 price tag may have thrown a few off, many embraced the nostalgia.

With the return of its classic “Sport Blue,” “Carmine,” and “Infrared” motifs complete, the Air Jordan 6 took its legendary profile up a few more notches.

Though the name may have changed, the color scheme is enough to keep the holiday AJ11 tradition alive and well. Back for the first time in years, plenty of thanks are in order for this bring-back.

Worn by Penny Hardaway during the ’96 All-Star Game, the return of this colorway is a breath of fresh air and worth every penny.

Whether it was a brand new colorway or an OG-inspired look, the Nike Air Huarache certainly made its presence felt.

With its running counterpart taking over retailers far and wide, the Nike Air Flight Huarache presented a hearty dose of Fab 5 approved flavor.

Leaving its mark all over 2014, the low-top version of the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordan 11 caused quite a stir with the long-anticipated release of the “Concord” colorway. The shoe of choice for Derek Anderson during his tenure with the Spurs, and for MJ while he played beer pong, we certainly relished the opportunity to snatch these up.

Still a fan favorite, the adidas EQT Cushion 91 launched in a barrage of colorways well equipped to satisfy any retro running crave.

Nike crafted and Ronnie Fieg approved, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid broke the Fall season with its grain-inspired drop.

Providing a blast back to New Balance’s running past, the 997 ran all over 2014 in a multitude of ways. Whether it was an in-line drop or a premium collab with Concepts, the famed silhouette set its own pace.

Originally released in 1999 and brought back in September, the “Black Toe” AJ14 was a pleasant sight to see. Releasing in original fashion for the first time as a retro, the drop was still the highlight of September.

Another classic hoops silos from the Three Stripes, the adidas Forum Hi stands just as tall now as it did when it first debuted.

Keyshawn Johnson may have traded in the gridiron for the broadcast booth, but his adidas Key Trainer ran a crisp fly route with its retail touchdowns.
