For roughly a year, the sneaker world has been waiting on pins and needles for the release of the first Kanye West collaboration with adidas. Since bouncing from the Swoosh and signing with the Three Stripes, there’s been talk of up to 20 designs and even a recent shot of a possible prototype.

While at LAX, TMZ tracked down Kanye West as he walked through the airport. Hounded by the paps about Kim K’s PAPER magazine cover and more, the constant questioning resulted in a couple laughs from Kanye and one quote:

“I’m going to China to work on the Yeezis.”

With adidas’ US headquarters in Portland and their global headquarters in Germany, this may mean the adidas Yeezis are actually in the production process. A look at the tongue tag on the Tubular, Pure Boost or Big Sean Pro Models will all reveal “Made in China” text, perhaps pointing to a Yeezi release being sooner rather than later. Peep the video below and let us know your hopes for the adidas Yeezis in the comment section.
