During Hoops for Troops Week, the NBA, its teams and players take charge in leading an initiative to honor active and retired service men and women and their families in collaboration with military and veteran serving organizations. Each year during this time, also known as Veterans Day Week, various players and teams wear uniforms, shoes and other apparel items in honor of the action, and this year the support was amplified. With Veterans Day now behind us, check out the 12 tributes we spotted during the NBA Hoops for Troops initiative.

Throughout Veterans Day week, multiple players around the league wore the NBA 2014 Veterans Day Socks in honor of the holiday. The quarter-length Logo Gear socks have printed graphics of stars and the NBA logo just below the cuff.

At the start of Veterans Day week, Stephen Curry sported a USA version of the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive, along with the NBA 2014 Veterans Day socks in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He first wore this particular shoe during the FIBA games this past summer.

In honor of the Canadian Armed Forces’ fallen members, the Toronto Raptors donned NBA Cares Hoops for Troops shirts during warm-ups and camouflage sleeved jerseys for the game on the team’s annual Remembrance Day Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic.

You can always count on Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker to participate in any special footwear honoring. Late last week, he sported the “USA” Nike LeBro X – a shoe LeBron James himself debuted in the final game of the 2012 Olympics. Tucker accompanied his LeBrons with the Veterans Day-inspired NBA socks.

Steph Curry’s second display of support for the official United States holiday saw him wear the Under Armour ClutchFit Highlight “Veterans Day.” The Army Green camouflage sneakers also recognize the Wounded Warrior Project Foundation seeing that it features the WWP logo on the tongue.

Jordan Brand went in a totally different direction with Carmelo Anthony’s Veterans Day week player exclusive this time around. After providing him with a red, white and blue Jordan Melo M9 during this time last season, the brand presented him with a dark-toned, camouflage-laced Jordan Melo M10 for this year. The most interesting element of Melo’s PE is the elephant print interpretation of camouflage on the tongue, toe box and inner lining.

Brandon Jennings and Kent Bazemore opted to support Veterans Day with low-top versions of the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive. Like Stephen Curry’s ClutchFit Highlight, these low-top Drives feature Army Green camouflage uppers and Hi Vis Yellow accents.

Worn by Joe Johnson and Kawhi Leonard, the “Veterans Day” Jordan Super.Fly 3 also makes use of the camouflage-themed elephant print motif that is seen on Carmelo Anthony’s aforementioned PE.

The San Antonio Spurs brought out their military-inspired uniform in honor of the Armed Forces’ servicemen and women this past Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Spurs created the camouflage-patterned uniforms to honor and showcase the team’s pride in the city nicknamed “Military City U.S.A.”

Tim Duncan took to the court in adidas’ lone Veterans Day-inspired player exclusive against the New Orleans Pelicans. His camouflage-laced adidas Crazy Ghost 2014 was worn on the same night San Antonio donned their previously mentioned military-inspired uniforms.

Although having no relation to Veterans Day, Dallas Mavericks guard Monta Ellis reverted back to the “Grey Camo” Air Jordan XX8 SE on Veterans Day 2014 in honor of the holiday. After wearing this XX8 SE consistently last season, Ellis has since moved on to the Jordan Super.Fly 3 among other shoes. But he indeed revisited this camouflage-based shoe with purpose in last night’s win against the Sacramento Kings.

Every year, Nike creates a player exclusive for LeBron James to wear on or around Veterans Day. The Veterans Day version of the LeBron 12 is, by far, the most detailed of his Veterans Day shoes over the years. Not only does the LeBron 12 feature the red, white and blue color scheme that the preceding makeups own, but it also is equipped with a stars and stripes graphic on the Hyperposite sections. LeBron’s latest PE is also finished with a star-filled heel tab.

During Hoops for Troops Week, the NBA, its teams and players take charge in leading an initiative to honor active…

[835,2,1219126
1225551

2":"type-post

NBA 2014 Veterans Day Socks
