Like many things in life, unexpected occurrences happen from time to time. With this in mind, our normal video recap of the top NFL cleats will air next week with a special appearance from several Seattle Seahawks. However, we’ll still showcase some of the best models seen around the league as we provide you a special editorial edition of Gridiron Kicks: A Recap Of Week 7’s Top NFL Cleats.

Jordan Rules

Dez Bryant in “Cowboys Blue”/White Air Jordan 6 Low

In what has been a consistent theme throughout the 2014 NFL season, the Air Jordan 6 model has been a popular choice, or “stipulation” amongst Jordan Brand athletes. From Charles Woodson to Earl Thomas, a variety of different colorways were seen involving the aforementioned silhouette. Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys took things to greater lengths as he sported two different Jordan 6 models during Dallas’ game against the New York Giants. What was the star wideout’s reasoning for the abrupt change? Well, as provided by Dallas News, Bryant states: “I feel like I have to go back to being me, wear the things I normally wear and don’t try to do anything different.” Well, the way Bryant preformed in the second-half of that game, it seems evident that he’ll stick with what works as the Cowboys look to continue their winning streak heading into Week 8.

Charles Woodson in the Breast Cancer Awareness-inspired Air Jordan 6 Low and Earl Thomas in a PE edition of the Air Jordan 6

Nike Models

Nike athletes continued to flourish throughout the league as the NFL’s primary apparel sponsor has a bevy of endorsers. Most notably, Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis kept things consistent as each defensive back wore traditional Nike models. Starting with Sherman, the stellar defensive back laced up a pair of Breast Cancer Awareness-inspired Nike Carbon Vapor cleats and Darrelle Revis of the New England Patriots donned a “futbol” model, as he wore a pair of White/Red and Blue Nike Tiempo soccer cleats.

In what ultimately became the crowning moment of the weekend, legendary quarterback Peyton Manning broke Brett Favre’s illustrious record of the most touchdown passes thrown in NFL history. Manning was able to surge past the record all while rocking a crisp pair of Nike Zoom Code Elite. His teammate and recipient of the record breaking touchdown, Demaryius Thomas, sported a Broncos-inspired hue of the Nike Lunar Superbad Pro Low.

Under Armour & More

As usual, Under Armour continues to hold a strong presence within the league as the UA brand continues to be the second strongest endorser within the NFL. Killa Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers kept things consistent with his Panthers-inspired colorway of his C1N signature. Randall Cobb, Eddie Lacy and Sam Shields of the Green Bay Packers each wore Under Armour models and Patrick Peterson of the Arizona Cardinals sported another PE model of the Under Amour Deception.

In addition to Under Armour, various adidas endorsers were spotted rocking three stripes models such as rookie sensation Sammy Watkins, who caught a game-winning touchdown in the adidas Adizero 5-Star 3.0 Mid model that incorporated an all-black colorway.

Various Players in Under Armour and adidas models

Custom Cleats

Cortland Finnegan in custom Nike Mecurials created by SolesBySir

A ton of custom cleats were sported over the weekend as it seems the emergence of social media continues to boost the popularity of custom cleats. Dezcustomz provided some custom work for a variety of Baltimore Ravens such as LaDarrius Webb, Steve Smith and Torrey Smith. However, Dez keep things within the division as he provided a custom pair of Nike Alpha Shark to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, as seen below.

Miami-based artist SolesBySir laced a bevy of Miami Dolphins with custom products as the ‘Fins traveled to the midwest to take on the Chicago Bears in what would become a surprising victory for the Dolphins. The various Dolphins players seen rocking Soles By Sir models included Cameron Wake and Cortland Finnegan. In addition, Washington Redskins wideout DeSean Jackson received some custom work as his team, the Washington Redskins, sported throwbacks during their Week 7 matchup.
