In this week’s Kicks Chronicles, we take some time out to reflect.

For our latest installment of Kick Chronicles, we, the Snkrs Day staff, identify and detail our favorite reflective, 3M sneakers. Check out the shoe each of us selected, and share with us your favorite 3M shoe.

The Air Max 97 is probably the most 3M I’d rock on one shoe, but my favorite application of the flash feature is that of the Air Jordan 5. When I was in seventh grade, I got my first pair in the form of the White/Metallic Silver retros. I wore them to school (and actually got made fun of once about them), I played basketball in them and eventually I probably mowed the lawn in them. Back when they were clean, there’s a great shot of me wearing them on spring break in Hilton Head with my sister. It’s at sunset so it’s pretty dim, but you can see the tongue just glowing on the shoe.

Twitter: @ianstonebrook/Instagram: ianstonebrook

This is a tough one for me. I absolutely love the KRINK Air Force 1, but the “Green Bean” Air Jordan 5 is honestly my favorite reflective shoe. The reason probably lies in the fact that this was one of the first 3M shoes that I felt I really needed in my possession. The Flint Grey hints just added to its overall subtle-yet-glaring appeal.

Twitter: @geokthree/Instagram: geokthree

Twitter: @petersim/Instagram: petersim

The Sakura x Nike Court Force that dropped back around ’07 are probably my favorite reflective sneakers. They utilized a black reflective upper, so you couldn’t even really tell they were reflective until the light hit them just right. Other details of the shoe such as a laser-etched tongue, textured collar, and semi-translucent outsole just put these things over the top.

Twitter: @MikePDiddy/Instagram: mikepdiddy

I’m not a flashy guy, and 3m material is inherently flashy, no pun intended. So whenever I think about some of my favorite 3m-styled models, I prefer those that incorporate subtle accents or features, rather than immersing itself in the aforementioned material. With this in mind, my pick would have to be the Air Jordan V. With its blend of innovation and historic detailing, this sneaker offers the perfect balance for someone like myself.

Twitter: pierceisdope/Instagram: pierceisdope

I’m not a super, big fan of 3M on shoes, and for that I prefer that the 3M detailing be more subtle. No shoe achieves that better in my opinion than the Nike KD II “Creamsicle.” It’s predominately orange upper already demands attention with its loud hue, but when you actually notice the orange is 3M as well, you begin to see its true beauty.

Twitter: @sidashford/Instagram: sidashford

In this week’s Kicks Chronicles, we take some time out to reflect.
