Chase N. Cashe<\/strong> is a man of many interests. The producer\/rapper is big on healthy living, he’s an avid hooper and he has a jersey collection that’s on another level. He also knows a lot about shoes. A whole lot. While making records for the likes of Drake (“Look What You’ve Done”) and Troy Ave (“Your Style” Remix) pay the bills better than blogging, he could definitely write history lessons on some of the best basketball and running shoes to release in the past two decades. Nike Air Max Plus<\/h2>\n

Chase N. Cashe:<\/strong> “That shoe is the shoe that made me pay attention to running shoes and designs outside of the Air Max 95. I remember my cousin had the original blue joints and I couldn’t get them. I got the orange ones and he was so sick. People were always complimenting me on them, even people who weren’t into sneakers. Even now they still do. I went to Madison Square Garden one night and ran into a guy from Europe who had them on too. His looked so much better than mine. That design, that sole, it’s like everything they copied when they started making the Griffey Air Max 360s and all that.”<\/p>\n

Chase N. Cashe:<\/strong> “To keep it real, I’ve always been wearing adidas. My adidas of choice was the Forum Hi and I’ve still got the Frank the Butcher pair. As an artist, you see how adidas and Reebok are giving people opportunities to keep their rights and design. Adidas is hip-hop. There’s something to be said about these things that Pharrell, Kanye, Nigo, Rocky, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor and Rita Ora are doing. They have people eating.”<\/p>\n

Chase N. Cashe:<\/strong> “There’s always a Jordan 1 in my rotation. I keep it with the basic colors. The early 2000s pairs are the ones I like. I like any Air Jordan 1 before 2005 [Laughs<\/em>]. The new ones don’t really look the same to me no more.”<\/p>\n

Chase N. Cashe:<\/strong> “I wish I was in the UK, I would be going crazy with that app right now. I want to make the mac ‘n cheese design [laughs<\/em>] and I’m going to do one with mangos on them. I might do something floral and make a pair for my mom, too. My mom be on my Instagram lurking [laughs<\/em>] and she’s been bugging me silly for a pair of those “Peach” or “Mojito” Lemar & Dauley FILA collabs. Those are some of the dopest sneakers to come out in a very long time.”<\/p>\n

“The customization game is out of control right now. Remember when you had Methamphibian\u00a0and C2 and all those guys? Even now, with JBF Customs and PMK. It’s interesting even with NIKEiD, too. John Geiger and Regular Ol Ty NIKEiD everything. That’s a good thing. It allows guys like that who are dope to basically be designers.”<\/p>\n

Nike Kobe 9 EM “Bright Mango”<\/h2>\n

Chase N. Cashe:<\/strong> “I hoop for real and I just like hoop shoes period. To me, the Kobe is one of the best shoes. Growing up, I wore Jordans for practice and would play games in Charles Barkleys. I was a big Vince Carter guy, too. I liked the VC 2s. Other than that, I liked the Crazy 8s, the T-MAC 2s, the DMX Iversons, but my shoe of choice was Barkleys. I liked Pennys too because they always looked good on court, but the Barkleys were built for someone who had a fat foot– you couldn’t roll your ankle in them. My top three basketball shoes would be Jason Kidd’s Nike Zoom Flight V, the Charles Barkley Godzillas and the Steve Nash Nike Zoom Jet Flights.”<\/p>\n
