Kevin Durant is living proof that you can do a lot in just 26 years. The humble hero known for his grade A game and being one of the best guys in the league celebrates his birthday today as fans do as well. While we could go on and on about his hardwood resume, we’ll save the stats and focus strictly on the sneakers. In honor of KD’s 26th birthday, we countdown his 26 best sneakers to release. Peep our rankings and give us your own on Twitter and in the comment section.

Covering a video game and having a signature sneaker are both awesome in their own right. Kevin Durant proved he could have his cake and eat it too when EA Sports and Nike teamed up for this KD III release.

It’s all in the details. The Nike KD VI “DC Pre-Heat” kicked off Kevin Durant’s new tradition of summer sneaker releases in bold and intricate fashion.

While we wished the Nike KD III “MLK” PE would’ve seen a formal release, the Swoosh brought “Black History Month” to the KD line and to retail with the V. The second official BHM KD release stands as one of the best KD Vs to date.

The KD IV is the model that really set off Durant’s signature line. A highlight was the “Year of the Dragon” drop, which brought Zodiac styling to the strapped signature.

College colorways are always a hit. For Durant’s first signature, the Nike KD I sported Longhorn styling on the smooth silo.

We know KD loves his football. The Nike Zoom KD III saw Washington team colors bring lifestyle appeal to the sporty signature. Durant actually rocked this colorway when he dropped 66 points at Rucker Park.

Very “Red October” in tone and blocking, the Nike KD 7 “Global Game” brought the theme everyone was talking about to KD’s seventh signature.

A sleeper, the Nike KD IV “BHM” matched dark tones with vibrant prints for one of the better Black History Month makeups.

Before all-red was the rage, the Nike Zoom KD III “All Star” paired perfectly with Durant’s Western Conference unis.

The Nike KD V doesn’t stand as the most popular silo in the KD line, but the “DMV” colorway was a hit. Sporting a bold hue inspired by the locale’s famous Mambo Sauce, this pair packed plenty of flavor.

Showing love to his fans out East, the Nike KD II Supreme “China” brought new life to the Thunder’s team tones. An all blue-base proved bold, while an icy outsole capped it all off.

Far cleaner than previous lifestyle oriented takes, the fragment design x Nike KD VI Elite brought tone and texture to the otherwise basketball oriented model.

The Nike N7 KD IV saw a portion of proceeds donated to Native American and Aboriginal youth sports programs. Sneakerheads had to hunt to score these as they were an outlet only exclusive.

KD gets buckets, what else is there to say?

Paying homage to his beloved Aunt Pearl, the Nike KD IV of her namesake drew from Kay Yow color blocking to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Icy blue bottoms and an orange Air Max unit were enough to make this Nike KD VI EXT pop, but the “Floral” fabric took it to another level.

By his second signature shoe, KD had already arrived as one of the league’s top talents. The Nike KD II “All Star” celebrated his first of many selections, sporting a vibrant red upper, wood grain graphic and translucent sole.

The college colorway was executed to perfection on the “Texas” KD IV. Team tones took well to the strapped up silo, making Longhorns fans out of many.

We’re pretty sure KD fills up the stat sheet on the road, but this “Scoring Title” Home makeup was the pair that saw release and response from kick coppers.

As a hot as lightning, the Nike KD 7 “35,000” launched the latest Durant model. Bold hues took well to the wavy design and new materials featured on his seventh signature.

Part of the Christmas colorways, the Nike KD III “Spotlight” brought a bright yellow finish to the third silo. While Kevin makes headlines for giving opposing teams buckets during the holidays, he’s also busy giving foster children awesome gifts.

Nostalgia ultra, the Nike Zoom KD IV “Nerf” featured an homage to the iconic toy brand and special packaging that brought it all together.

Kevin Durant loves his teammates and his teammates love him back. For the launch of the “Creamsicle” KD II, various members of the OKC squad hit the hardwood in this dessert do-up.

Can’t pick your favorite KD VI? The “What the KD” VI combined all the can’t-miss colorways on one must-have shoe. Sure, the Foamposites were the talk of the town when the “Galaxy” pack first launched, but years later the KD IV is the pair that looks truly out of this world.

The best so far. Paying tribute to his childhood dream of being a meteorologist, the Nike Zoom KD IV “Weatherman” wins with storytelling and creativity.

Kevin Durant is living proof that you can do a lot in just 26 years.
