The toast of the West Coast has collaborated with the best from both hemispheres, expanding their release resume on the sneaker scene while still stocking the best boutique brands and growing their own label.<\/p>\n

Year:<\/strong> 2009<\/p>\n

Years before Yeezy was boosting Bombers, UNDFTD drew from a classic Air Force flight jacket on their Converse Poorman’s Weapon collab. A satin upper, bright orange lining and removable patches pulled from the MA-1 design, with shop branding and waxed laces taking this Converse to new heights.<\/p>\n

Going up on Groundhog’s Day ’08, the UNDFTD x Estevan Oriol x adidas 1979 Top Ten dropped to the tune of 650 pairs<\/a> worldwide. Clean color blocking, slick packaging and a photo book by Estevan Oriol had these looking pretty tough back then and still smooth today.<\/p>\n

Year:<\/strong> 2006<\/p>\n

Hyper colorways and collabs popped and dominated the latter part of the 2000s. The UNDFTD x Stussy x Mad Hectic x New Balance MT580 “Triple Threat” Pack is an early example of both, offering a chunky retro runner in highlighter hues. UNDFTD would continue to work with New Balance and bring in other creatives to the party.<\/p>\n

Smells like team spirit? UNDFTD took their athletic angle to a skate silo on this pack with Vans. Suede styling stands out on each upper, with a playful logo lending itself to the quarter panel and midsole.<\/p>\n

You thought the “All Star” Questions from 2000 were loud? UNDFTD upped the ante tenfold six years later with this wild take on the original Iverson. Limited to 200 pairs, this collab colorway mixed materials and shades for the showiest take on the showman’s signature.<\/p>\n

Year:<\/strong> 2005<\/p>\n

Collabs were catching on in 2005. While Nike was mixing it up with a variety of shops, the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk High NL saw a pairing that would standout and predict trends. Though the No Liner Dunks didn’t stick around as long as their SB or inline counterparts, crazy colorway high tops would mark the market for years to come.<\/p>\n

Dropping during the Great Recession, what shoe would sell, let alone hold its value? The UNDFTD x PUMA 24k Mid “Solid Gold” strayed away from the standard SKUs and invested in gold. This pair was limited to only 72 pairs worldwide, dropping at UNDFTD’s shops on LaBrea and in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

5. UNDFTD x Nike Dunk High White\/Gum<\/h2>\n

Year:<\/strong> 2002\/2013<\/p>\n

Not many collabos are built for every day wear and not all collabos are released. Back when UNDFTD first opened their doors in 2002, Nike gifted the staff<\/a> with an exclusive run of 48 White\/Gum Dunk His. Sat on, seeded and likely worn, this clean colorway was a rare gem that you had to be down to get. In 2013, they opened these up to the masses by formally releasing them and pairing them with a Hyperdunk of the same scheme.<\/p>\n

4. BAPE x UNDFTD x adidas ZX5000<\/h2>\n

Delays saw the release of the BAPE x UNDFTD x adidas ZX5000 pushed back, but its safe to say anyone that scored a pair would agree they were worth the wait. Balancing bold and neutral, Far East and Americana, this three-way collaboration is a case study in conserving the most topical of trends and creating a product that’s truly timeless.<\/p>\n

Year:<\/strong> 2003\/2013<\/p>\n

Let’s go back to 2003. Collabs were new, Dunks were hot, and UNDFTD was on the rise. The combination of all three ingredients made the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk High “Ballistic” the grail of all grails. Limited to a sample run of 24 pairs, the cool concept and collaborative branding made fiends out of forum frequenters. Ten years later, UNDFTD made these official and accessible with the “Bring Back” Pack.<\/p>\n

Year:<\/strong> 2006<\/p>\n

In 2006, UNDFTD went Hollywood– and so did sneaker culture– with this super sick Air Force 1. The art of storytelling was taken to new heights with the in-store\/on TV debut of the “Entourage” Fukijama x UNDFTD x Nike Air Force 1. Premiering on the HBO show of its nick-namesake, the season 3 sneakers were swooped in shop by the late, great sneakerhead DJ AM, with Turtle left to sulk.
