With speculation running rampant involving his impending retirement, Michael was able to help lead the Chicago Bulls to its sixth NBA championship, by defeating the Utah Jazz in six games. In what some may argue is his greatest shot, Michael was able shake free from defender Byron Russell in the closing seconds\u00a0of game six, and capitalize, by sinking a gorgeous top-of-the-key jumper that remains entrenched in NBA lore. Making the moment even more special, Micheal was able to do all of this while sporting a prestine pair of the Black and Varsity-Red Air Jordan 14. <\/p>\n
0 to 100<\/h2>\n During the conception of the Air Jordan 14, famed designer Tinker Hatfield derived inspiration from Michael Jordan’s Ferrari 550m. Building upon the angular and lower-cut structure of the sports car, the Air Jordan 14 became a sleek and innovative silhouette to an already versatile Air Jordan lineage. With the Ferrari 550m being Tinker’s muse, the Air Jordan 14 began to take on some of its features. For starters, the Air Jordan branding badges on the 14 resembles the Ferrari crests on the 550m. Also, the midsole drew direct inspiration from the grill of the 550m and the heel of the Air Jordan 14 was made to resemble a high-performance tire. <\/p>\n
Legacy<\/h2>\n Like many Air Jordans, the legacy of the Air Jordan 14 remains strong and has also remained popular within three different decades. With its initial release in 1998, we have seen retros in 2005 and now 2014. In addition, notable NBA players have gone on to rock the innovative silhouette during games such as Charles Barkley, DeMarcus Cousins, Monta Ellis, and Andre Drummond.
